Scott, I agree, Facebook has the service beat, and it only takes
Facebook pushing their status updates further (like in integrations
with CNN for the inauguration) for twitter to go the way of the dodo.

Here's the problem I see with Twitter. Say I like a particular blogger who posts videos. Do I follow the blogger on Twitter, or their blog's RSS feed, or do I even follow them by subscribing to their YouTube channel? Or do I even add them on Facebook and see their updates via that?

Speaking of Facebook, I wonder how Twitter competes with FB's status updates. In the "real world" I'm already connecting with my friends through FB, so why would I want to Tweet instead of just use what's built into FB? I get the feeling Twitter is (in the main) driven by people who have an agenda (eg. traffic generation, political motives).

With all that said though, I am going to explore the concept in the near future (ie. sign up to Twitter) and see if there's any true value there... ;)

With all that said though, I am going to explore the concept in the near future (ie. sign up to Twitter) and see if there's any true value there…
