This will be great for YouTube growth, but I don’t know how well this is going to play out for monetizing YouTube.

It’s a pretty cool feature none-the-less, meaning you can browse through pretty much any YouTube video from any widget on any site. Grooveshark just released their widget, but unfortunately it doesn’t include the ability to listen to any song on a remote site, although we may see that functionality employed in the future.

The site itself is in Beta, but it looks great. They have major-content from all the major providers, and will be putting a lot of pressure on Hulu and YouTube.

Sling.com is built around the Sling-community, and that community resides around live-streaming of at-home-content, that is, media that you watch while sitting on the couch.

Live-Streaming Makes Sling.com A Killer

I’m not sure how the licenses are setup for live-streaming of TV, but Sling has a huge opportunity to make a splash with Sling.com.

There is a Live-TV tab that lets you stream from your current SlingPlayer. Unfortunately it isn’t yet setup for a Mac, but I believe this is just a pre-cursor to a lot of good stuff to come.

Imagine being able to watch any show, from any Slingbox, online, from Sling.com. Say you are a Patriots fan, but live in Florida. Your local Fox or CBS affiliate isn’t going to broadcast the game, but your buddy in New England will be getting the game.

What if you could pay $5 per month to get access to his Slingbox? And then catch all out-of-market games instantly, from your browser? Pretty sweet if you ask me.. This is great for all of the International users as well, no longer to ex-pats miss all their sports teams.

Thanks Sling.com, Now My Productivity Is Going Down The Toilet

Sling.com has a lot of the same programming choices from Hulu, but for some reason I like Sling.com better. Maybe because it integrates with my Slingbox or it’s a different player?

Not sure, but either way, Sling.com is going to be a force to be reckoned with as YouTube tries to figure out how to monetize their video behemoth.

Estimates put the CPM value on YouTube at $1. So that means your video has to be viewed 100,000 to make you $100, and 1,000,000 views, surely something that sounds pretty big only yields you $1,000.

The Sarah Silverman video which people are proud to say has received 7 million views has only netted YouTube $7,000. Pretty much chump-change in the video space.

So what is Google’s master plan?

The lifeblood of most music sites, affiliate links to Amazon and iTunes will soon be adorning YouTube videos everywhere.

Now users will be able to download their favorite songs instead of listening to and watching them for free on YouTube!

The Small Pieces May Add Up

While this certainly won’t spell any major revenue for Google, I think it’s a step in the right direction. With Adsense, Google was able to tap into the local markets and bring all of the long-tail online.

Starting with just affiliate links, I think YouTube has the opportunity to bring on smaller revenue generating pieces that together will make YouTube valuable.

So are you going to be purchasing any songs after watching videos on YouTube? …Yeah, me either, but somebody will!

After John McCain ‘suspended‘ his campaign to rush to Washington to get in the way of the $700 bailout bill preparation, he is now blaming Obama for interjecting politics into the discussion and it is now Obama’s fault for the fallout yesterday where the bill did not pass.

Below is where McCain blames Obama, and for some reason made me think of the lovable turtles from the Comcast commercials, the Slowskys?

He’s like an Alan Greenspan that isn’t boring and really old. He can break things down into simple terms and explain to the populous exactly why things are happening.

Why Did The Markets Crash?

Up until this point, I haven’t heard anyone, Paulson, Bernake, anyone, explain why we’re in such a shitty position with the stock market. All they have said is ‘correction’ and things along these lines.

In his interview with Jon Stewart last night Clinton explains, eloquently why we’re in the state we’re in now. These interviews are worth it.

Fresh off the Google Chrome launch, I was ready to dive into their walk-through videos online to find this same YouTube Fail. Google Chrome in and of itself is really quick, and fun, I only wish I could learn more about it!
