So it looks like the Obamas are moving Michelle’s grandmother into the White House, and watching the news this morning, they seemed to make a big deal about her age. She’s 71.

And they say 71 as if she’s really old, and …a grandmother. But the funny thing is, John McCain is 72, and older than this old Grandma. Did people actually want to elect a 72 year old?

1.2 Million Florida Homeowners At Serious Risk of Mortgage Foreclosure

Florida homeowners are at an extremely high risk of mortgage foreclosure. Florida, like California, saw house prices skyrocket the past 10 years, and now is reeling from the effects of the recession forcing many homeowners close to foreclosure.

What’s alarming is nearly one in three Florida mortgage borrowers owed more on their loans than their homes were worth in the third quarter, according to a report issued Friday.

If home prices dip another 5 percent, nearly 200,000 more Florida borrowers would slip under water.

This would put up to 1,400,000 homeowners at serious risk for foreclosure. Obama may be the President-elect, but he needs to start getting his transition team wrapped up and get this lame duck Congress moving.

Relief to Help Mortgage Foreclosures

There is a proposed relief package for the lame-duck session on November 17th, but it makes no mention of mortgage-relief.

The House legislation would have extended unemployment insurance, provided additional food stamp assistance, given states help in covering Medicaid costs and backed the development of more fuel-efficient vehicles.

With this relief package, the Government needs to install the moratorium on foreclosures or help homeowners in Florida who are facing more debt than their home is worth.

Risk of Homeowners Walking Away

If a homeowner owes more on their home than the home is worth, there is a risk homeowners will just walk away from their mortgage. It’s in the homeowners best interests, in the near-term, and the major effect would be a possible bankruptcy declaration or defaulting on their bills.

This is not a good position for a homeowner, but if they recognize that the home may be foreclosed on them a year from now, all of their mortgage payments they make in the interim would go to waste, effectively losing them a lot of money.

The Government needs to get back on the side of the consumer, and put the incentive back into staying in your home, and paying your mortgage off, and this can only come with more security, backing from the Government, and a pledge to preserve people’s mortgages, the way the Government backed the large banks and insurers.

So we have 1.2 million Florida homeowners at a high-risk of foreclosure, and help is needed. The Government needs to put in mortgage relief in this possible lame-duck session November 17th.

I can see why people travel across the country for this.

After reporting yesterday’s Advertising news brief, I realized that I missed a lot of other good stories to share with you. So I’m going to be starting a ‘what I’m reading’ everyday so you get all the news that’s fit to print.

So what happened yesterday and is breaking news this morning? As a morning warrior, you have to be awake at dawn break busting your ass.

I was inspired to wake up at 5am after hearing Donald Trump mention it on the Howard Stern show, he gets up at 5am and so does Frank Lucas (American Gangster), so it’s safe to say I’m in successful company.

There was a big fuss about the Republicans using Heart’s Barracuda whenever Sarah Palin on stage, to play up the whole ‘pitbull with lipstick’ thing and then Heart came out and demanded the RNC stop using the song, because–well, they weren’t paying for it and Heart supports Obama.

Now that got me thinking about all of the campaign songs over the past 20 years and how they could have been a lot better. Typically these songs were picked while the candidate was campaign or played during inaguration, well before we knew how well these Presidents would perform.

John McCain is one of the most ~~charismatic~~ boring orators of our time. He is, in fact, 72 years old. Alan Greenspan is even older, at 82 years old, but for some reason I trust him more with the economy than John McCain.

After John McCain ‘suspended‘ his campaign to rush to Washington to get in the way of the $700 bailout bill preparation, he is now blaming Obama for interjecting politics into the discussion and it is now Obama’s fault for the fallout yesterday where the bill did not pass.

Below is where McCain blames Obama, and for some reason made me think of the lovable turtles from the Comcast commercials, the Slowskys?

Anyone else see the resemblance?

It will really be a shame if Obama doesn’t win this election.

He’s eloquent, articulate, and pretty much everything you could ask for in a president. And watching this video really highlights what a unique talent he is.

The Democratic Party should not be forgiven if they fail to land Obama in the White House in this election, and they should probably look to disassemble and figure something else out, he’s that good:

After watching Obama on ESPN last night, and seeing him play 1-on-1 with Stuart Scott, it really made you feel like he’s one of us. The people LOVE W because they feel like he is, “one of us,” despite being a rich-kid whose Daddy was President, and gave him everything he’s ever had in his life.

Obama is the real deal, coming from a divorced family, putting himself through college, fighting uphill being a minority, and I’m glad he’s the candidate for president on the Democratic side. Here is the Obama video, and also one of McCain’s great masterpieces below.
