After Spiralfrog posted that 10million loan application, I thought things couldn’t get any worse for them, but it turns out there might be a silver lining to their cloud. They’ve been able to re-negotiate the terms on their loan that required them to pay $7 million back on this day, today.

Part of our Grooveshark groups project, we have all been divided up into kick-ass teams of 5 or so, and we’re finally now enacting all of our 3 week long projects.
For Valentine’s Day, we’re giving UF students free $10 in music, conveniently contained in a Valentine’s Day card, which will be taped to the bottom of their chair. They’ll sit down at their desk, read the note, find the card, and BAM! instant satisfaction :)

With Moneyshark rolling out, our labels are finally starting to get paid (remember “everbody gets paid?“). We’ve crafted up some slick packets that will be going out in the coming weeks, and we’ll be rolling out Moneyshark to labels as the product is tested and debugged.
2008 will be the year of Grooveshark.

Girl Talk performed in Gainesville Wednesday, and also in Orlando Thursday, so we’re celebrating by skinning the entire site for the Girl Talk performances. Vishal did a great job on the skin, and it really embodies everything Girl Talk is about, like drinking, hot girls, and mashups.

Girl Talk is one of the fore-runners in the new wave of the copyright movement. He uses samples from hundreds of different tracks to create “mashups” of different songs. It’s really amazing if you’ve never heard his work before. Here is a sample from …

Ingrid Michaelson’s song can be quite addicting, I try to only listen to it a couple times a day so I don’t wear it out, but it’s just so damned addicting.

Grooveshark is developing new packages for all of their label partners, and our wonderful designer John has come up with a couple of mockups.
This card (front/back) is meant to illustrate our team, and how we’re offering a completely radical, different product for consumers and record-labels alike.
The front side shows our team, how we are young, fun, whatever, and also has a brief rundown of our features:
