Meizu is a Chinese company that has been working on an iPhone ripoff every since Jobs announced the original iPhone back in January 07.
Finally, it seems like the hardware and software is finally coming around, and we may see an iPhone knockoff perhaps in the 1st quarter of 09. Then again, with the iPhone being refreshed every year, this phone may seem a little dated by the time it finally rolls out.

With all of the iPhone killers being showcased, it’s refreshing to finally see a phone company trying to compete with the lowly iPod. Joking aside, the Nokia e66 spec list is quite impressive including, A-GPS, Wifi, 3G and a beautiful slider-form factor.

So I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to cell phones, just ask my girlfriend, co-workers, or parents… and that means I jump from unlocked iPhones to Blackberry 8700Gs in a heartbeat. But this past week, it wasn’t my decision to make the jump.
