Adwords Tips 2010: Owning Google Instant

Google Instant has been released and people are already discussing how it affects SEO post Google Instant. Well, there have been significant changes for Google AdWords, and big opportunities to capitalize on these changes. Here are my suggestions that are already paying dividends.

AdWords Tips 2010

With more people searching more often, it means deeper, long-tail searches are happening.

Which means there are going to be more impressions and more opportunities to bid on long-tail keywords, increase your quality score, and pay lower prices for better keywords.

If you look at this screenshot above, you can see a search for “kamisori shears“, one of the items I sell on My Salon Tools.

So now, when a customer is searching for “kamisori shears”, they are likely to also search for:

kamisori shears review
reviews on kamisori shears
discounted kamisori shears

Pretty easy keyword research, right?

So what do we do with these different keywords?

Create new ad groups based on these new keywords

1. Add these keywords to your new ad groups
2. Create new ads based on these keywords

By creating these deeper ad groups, you are going to be able to achieve a higher Quality Score (because your ads are highly related to your keywords), and pay a lower net price because your competition will not be as optimized.
