So I just got a copy of Leopard from work (we did a Family pack buy), and now that everything is installed, I’m ready to start testing out the new features.
First of all, I want to advise anyone who is going to be installing leopard to be sure to do an Archive & Install as opposed to the Upgrade or Erase & Install option.
Archive & Install allows you to save all of your current information, while also having your hard drive reformatted for a nice fresh install, hence getting the best of both worlds — save your content, have your disk reformatted.
Apple Stacks is a really cool feature that allows you to view a folder on your dock, without having that annoying Finder window coming up.
This is a great feature that can go into our whole keeping your desktop clean. Instead of cluttering up your desktop with a bunch of documents, what you can do is just create a folder that sits on your dock. I’ve called mine files, and that’s where the majority of my downloads go, and anything that I might need to access immediately.
Another cool feature is that I can put my Apple iDisk on the dock as well, and have immediate access to all of my files on both my laptop and my desktop.
Leopard is definitely cool.
