Well apparently there is an epidemic in the web 2.0 world, fat.
Not to be a cynic, but this should not be such a problem to people who are very successful.
There are a few components to a good life:
- marriage, family, etc.
- good career, successful
- good health enabling fulfillment of your life
I’m assuming most of the people plagued by this fat epidemic are both financial successful and at least some what fulfilled in their personal lives. And typically the financial success leads to the increased level of satisfaction with your personal life.
Now, the incongruous part of this is that in order to enable a happy, successful life, you have to be healthy. And being healthy comes with a sound, healthy workout regime, eating routine, etc.
In the nature of full-disclosure, I’ll tell you now that I am in probably the best shape of my life, and I will continue to stay at this level or improve as I age (i’m 22 now).
As I’m writing this, I realize that this is going to turn into a series, so I’ll start this post with a tip fo those of you out there trying to lose weight. Now it’s a pretty simple tip, but something I personally sometimes struggle with myself:
Eat less, don’t be greedy.
Okay, that’s it. When ordering food, order from the kids menu, or order a half-portion. I know in the heat of the moment, you’re always telling yourself, “I better order the large portion, so that I can guarantee I won’t be hungry later”.
It’s actually amazing how easy it can be to fill yourself up, and by the time you finish your meal, you’ll be surprised that you would have eaten the next larger size.
So next time you’re out to eat, get the smaller portion, and, if you’re hungry after you’re done, grab a snack on the way out to tide you over till your next “meal”.
