I’m in a long distance relationship, and I travel a lot for work, so I’m often living out of a suitcase.
As a result, I’ve learned to pack light, and enjoy the merits of being free from restrictions like possessions
Here are my 3 tips to keep myself sane and organized while traveling.
Prepare a travel toiletries bag with a duplicate set of essentials
I have my contact case, solution, toothpaste, deodorant, hair gel, advil, vitamins, and toothbrush in a travel case.
Whenever I have to go somewhere, I just take this duplicate bag of stuff, throw in my electric razor and glasses, and I’m off.
Having this extra set of supplies saves a lot of time when packing, and I don’t have to worry about forgetting anything because all of my supplies are already in the bag
Bring clothes that can match everything — dress up or down
I typically bring one pair of jeans for a week-long trip. These jeans match just about everything, are really comfortable, and can be dressed up with nice shoes or down with sandals.
Be sure to have a washer-dryer handy if you are a big sweater or find yourself in some mud. Also good additions are a sport jacket that can be dressed up or down, to allow you to go out at night and be professional during the day.
Buy a separate set of chargers for your travels
There’s nothing worse than getting to your destination to realize that you forgot your phone charger. Then, as you plunk down $30 for a charger that would have cost you $10 on eBay, you realize you should have planned ahead.
I always keep an extra blackberry charger in my suitcase so it goes anywhere with me.
Also, it’s a good idea to buy a set of traveling shoes that stay in your bag as well, anything that cuts down on packing time is good.
So next time you’re traveling, remember these 3 tips, and you’ll be traveling worrying free and relaxed
