My whole life I’ve been pinching pennies and maximizing every drop of income I’ve received, from selling clearance items from Wal-mart on eBay in the hay-days of eBay to using 0% interest credit cards to cash in on hefty money market accounts, and I thought it would be good to showcase one of the techniques I use to help myself feel rich while being poor: frequent purchase coupons.

Whenever my girlfriend and I go out to eat at quick chain restaurants, we always get our tickets stamped. For every 5 meals we eat at Moe’s, we get 1 free, so if you assume each meal is about $7, if we spend $70, we get $7 back. 10% return on investment? Not bad –
Let Your Friends Pay for Your Meals
Another great technique is go to out with friends, and for those of your friends that think you’re “cheap,” you can gladly scoop up their free punches and soon land yourself some free meals, courtesy of their generosity.
While it can be a hassle to carry around all your cards, I’ve found it’s easiest to bunch them up into a small wallet-type device that you keep in the glove compartment, then whenever you’re at a restaurant, remember to bring the card in, get stamped and you’re good to go. Funny thing is, at Moe’s we now have 10 cards, all with one stamp on them, so even we get lazy sometimes too
Any good tips you can share for feeling rich while staying poor?
