For all of you college students who receive tons of credit card applications in the mail, this post is for you! When I’m done reading my bank statements and other mail, I like to tear them up in a couple of pieces and chuck in the trash. Well, apparently that is not enough. According to Maximum Prophet over at Cockeyed.com, he was able to receive confirmation for a credit card application that he had sent in.
He had torn the application up into 15 or so small pieces taped it back up, and sent it in. Credit card companies use electronic submitting to input their data, so a human could have never seen the taped up application.
Let this be a warning to you, and please check out this sale on shredders. (Froogle: shredders)
