ScribeFire Lets You Blog Directly From Firefox

One of my compatriots at Grooveshark and The Drunk Pirate referred me over to ScribeFire, a blogging tool that lets you create posts directly from your browser window. This isn’t something entirely new, as Flock allows you to do this, but their offering was always a little lagged, while so far, ScribeFire feels pretty substantial.

Activating ScribeFire was as simple as installing the Firefox plugin (compatible with Firefox 3 Beta), restarting your browser, and setting up your blog’s API/user credentials. I actually wasn’t aware of my API settings, but was able to set it up on the first try and am now using it to type this post.

When writing the post, the window takes up 50% of my screen real estate, but by pressing F8, I can drop the window down and bring it back up without losing my progress.

I’m going to be continuing to use ScribeFire and see how it goes, but so far, I don’t see a reason why I would be using WordPress anymore — this is great!
