Firefox Mobile Interface Preview by Aza Raskin

Aza Raskin seems to be on a bit of a roll these days, after being hired by Mozilla in January to head up their mobile interface division, and the wildly fun and exciting Songza, he brings us the first sneak peeks at what browsing on Firefox Mobile might look like.

Here’s his video:

As he mentions in the video, this is simply a single-touch interface (not multi-touch like the iPhone), but that certainly doesn’t seem to limit the usability. The key goal of the Firefox mobile browser is to maximize the screen real estate so you have as much content contained in a, 2″ space as possible. Based on this early design, this version seems optimized for the blackberrys of the world and Windows Mobile devices with the smallish-screens we’re used to on the Blackjacks, Treos, etc.

I’m certainly excited to see this move forward, as the current browsing options on non-iPhone devices are pretty piss-poor at best.
