On every fan page there is a share button in the bottom left hand of the screen. When you click that button it brings up the box above. Here you can send a message to your already existing friends on Facebook announcing your product AND you can send an email message to people outside your friends circle.

So how is this useful?

This is where your list you’ve been building comes in. You take the emails from your list, and you send them out to all your potential fans. And since these people are already interested in your community, they’ll have a much higher chance of joining.

What you also want to do is incentivize them as well. Give them a special coupon, free tutorial, ebook, etc. as a reason to become you fan. A lot of people hold giveaways as well.
