What States is Obama Winning that Kerry and Gore Lost?

After just watching the HBO movie, Recount, detailing the possible voter fraud in 2000, it made me interested to find out what kind of results we’re expecting for the 2008 election.

What states did John Kerry and Al Gore lose that Barack Obama is winning now? And do they matter?

2000 Election

Gore won both Iowa and New Mexico, but barely lost Florida.

2004 Election

Kerry lost Iowa and New Mexico.

2008 Election?

These are pre-polling numbers:

Right now Obama is positioned to take New Mexico and Iowa, the two states Al Gore held to win the popular vote. Obama would also take New Hampshire, a state Gore failed to hold in the 2000 election. Come election, I think we’ll see Obama also taking Florida, which the Democrats have lost the past 2 elections.
