What is it about a Presidential election that gets people so pissed off?

I think prior to the Palin announcement, both sides were playing a pretty fair game, attempting to discuss the issues and stay away from the attacks that have been so common-come Presidential Elections. The Swift Boat dudes from 4 years ago and today Palin’s Troopergate, Obama’s Propensity for Weathermen, etc. etc.

This partisanship is really well highlighted in the political tshirts of the day. Below is a collection that really makes you hate the partisan politics that come into play on both sides and really just add fuel to this fire.
