In Seattle yesterday, a man executed an amazing robbery. He accosted a armored car drive with pepper spray, stole a bag of money, and fled off into a creek for an awaiting inner tube.
After floating down the river some 200 yards, police found only his inner tube and suspect he may have been picked up by accomplices.
The most interesting piece to this story is that the Seattle man had posted a Craigslist ad 1 week prior.
Craigslist is More Than Just For Casual Encounters
The bank robber had posted a job for a construction project and he needed a team of workers. He said they would be paid $28.50/hr but needed to be dressed in a “Yellow vest, safety goggles, a respirator mask⦠and, if possible, a blue shirt.”
The day of the crime, about 7 men arrived for the job. The robber snatched the bank money, ran past the awaiting 7 men, and quickly shedded his clothes.
In a bit of a guise, the 7 men stood as lookalikes, very similar to the plot of Inside Man and Quick Change.
Needless to say, this probably won’t be the last person to execute a crime via Craigslist, so be careful what you do.
