Adwords Guide: What is Quality Score?

AdWords has the unlimited potential to help you make money online in HUGE amounts. So that’s why I’m making it my #1 goal to become an AdWords expert, and teach you guys all the tips, and tricks I’m learning about AdWords. The first portion of the AdWords Guide is explaining Quality Score.

The quality score is a number from 0 to 10 that is determined by a couple of factors:

- How relevant the keyword is to the ads I created
- How relevant our landing page is to the keywords
- How relevant our ad group name (and related ad groups) is to our campaign

Once we get our Quality Score, to determine what position our ad shows up in Google Search is a calculation:

Quality Score x Bid Price = Position

Take this example to see how important Quality Score can be:

Competitors
8 Quality Score
.55 CPC Bid
4.4 Total

Whoever has the higher total Quality Score x Bid gets the higher ranking, so our competitor could pay half as much as us and get a better ranking.
